Taking It to Work:

If you are a true follower of Jesus, you have a source of light in you that is beyond any of this earth.  We don’t stop much to contemplate the fact that we were created and redeemed by God to shine His light, bring hope to others, and give glory to Him in our short stay here.

How do we do that? Well, with the world bustling about around us, it is difficult, and it takes intetionality. We can get so wrapped up in the daily grind, our careers, our possessions, our safety and comfort, that we forget we have a much higher purpose . . . light bearers of the King.

Now that things seem to be changing out there, it has gotten many of us to raise our heads out of our busyness, and to pay attention to the sudden darkness that seems to be starting to surround us.

His Word reminds us today, not of what we were hired to do, but what we were created to do – walk as children of light. We have a light within us, and it is our duty to give it out again, especially in a growing darkness, where so many around us are fearful and depressed.

So what is your work assignment from the big boss today? As you move about in your workplace, remember the wonderful light that God has shone upon you, and purpose to give out that same light of hope, peace and life to others. And as you let His light shine, His Word will work through you today!

Isaiah 60:1 ESV – Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.
John 1:4-5 ESV – In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
2 Corinthians 4:6 ESV – For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 5:8 ESV – For at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.
Matt 5:16 (ESV) – In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

Listening to the Holy Spirit (Rhema):

Light shines, reaching in all directions, landing both on the good and the evil. Darkness has no substance; it shines not as light, and has no being. There is no life except through the light. By the design of My hands, My creation reflects this truth. There exists life by My light alone. Beyond this creation it is also true. The Kingdom of God is illuminated forever by this light, emanating from the Father through the Son that all that is, becomes, and is, rising from nothing to eternal reflection of God given by His light, and sustained. You are of this light, that gives life, and of My life, that allows life abundant and eternal. Do not weep for a passing creation, for in this creation arises the children of Light. From the cocoon to flight, from the confines of a shell to freedom. I Am the way, the truth and the life. In this life alone will you find life, not of the earth. In the end comes great turmoil on the earth, for many reject the Light, and their numbers grow strong that oppose the Truth. Do not fear, for My light still is upon you, and it shall remain for eternity, but on them, only for a time. Soon the life of the evil will be snuffed as a candle, sudden and complete. To My own, the memory of suffering shall be as the memory of birth, too distant and without scar of its trial. Walk now as children of hope, bathed in a great light that continues to give light. Rejoice in your breath, and My radiance set on your face. You have bowed to your Creator, and even before your bow, I knew of your coming. Rejoice in what did not have to be. Be not downtrodden, for the Light of the world has come, and it shines that you would have life, and in abundance have joy, peace and bear much fruit. In this, even more so in darkness, they will know you are My disciple.
