Without another, there is greater struggle. The road is more difficult for he who has no friends. Temptation is better fought with the steady countenance of a faithful pair. Do not discount those called beside you. Do not lose focus of the spiritual journey, for man is called upward in My Word, redeemed to grow in My reflection, and walk as I walked. All are in need of another, though many grow used to the weight alone. Seek one to stand beside, not as a wife nor husband, but one of My own, trudging the difficulty of the upward, same way. The struggle is halved by a brother, and she who has a true sister, has much help. Weakness grows crippled without a lift, and the rest is not easy for the lone. Pray that one would be sent who would uplift as you also uplift, for two are better than one, and two who walk with the Son, travel as with wings. Look that you may see the sent, as you are also sent.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (ESV) – Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

Bottom Line: We live in a Rambo culture, expected to make it on our own, making our own success from our own hard work and intelligence. This may be somewhat true in the workplace (maybe), but climbing the spiritual ladder can be much more difficult. It can be so difficult, that the God who created us said it would be better if we were not alone. He knew that we are at our weakest when we are alone. Man or woman, married or not, if we are truly serious about spiritual growth, we will find the help of a good spiritual brother or sister, to strengthen and encourage us on our journey. Your help to them, and theirs to you, will make it easier for both of you, to be like Him.
