The small of the wild follow the large. The mother protects the young. It is necessary that one must be led and also protected. In My creation there is no trickery. Each guide as I have ordained. Each protects as instinct within, but not so with man. In he, I have given of My own likeness – to choose. He obligates not himself, nor do I. Only in the whisperings of My Spirit does he bless others before himself, protect others before himself. This privilege to choose is of the nature of the Father, and nowhere else does it reside to be given. For man without God can do no good outside his instinct, and the wide path is so because he does not. My calling is of grand design, higher than the preservation of self, but shall not be answered by most. For in the choosing, with man and angels, there is grave fault: desire for self before all else. My way is of choice, but also of selflessness. The way is difficult and cannot be traveled alone. Seek My Spirit that you would be made strong for the journey.  Your call is first to He who gives breath and life, then to others whom I bring in need, not of coin, but of love divine, also given only of God through the Holy Spirit. You are My reflection in both choice and love, and My Word and Spirit speak that you would know this selfless narrow way. Use each gift well, and your joy shall be complete, and great will be your reward.

Genesis 1:27 (ESV) – So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

Matthew 7:13-14 (ESV) – “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.”

Hebrews 13:16 (ESV) – Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.

Bottom Line: The ability to choose right from wrong, selfishness or selflessness, self-preservation or self-sacrifice, is a gift from God, and an attribute where we reflect part of His divine nature. Each day we awake with that gift in our hand. The day can be given to choices that fulfil our needs, and most out of necessity may be like that, but we must remember that we reflect God and shine His light the brightest when we do for others, instead of ourselves. It sounds easy, but even for those saved by His grace, sacrifice is not easy, not real sacrifice. As you go back to work this week, keep an eye out for those who you can bless, by giving of yourself. When you do so, you will reflect the God that created you, died for you while you were still in your sin, and is still blessing you daily. When you choose to give away yourself, as you try to be like Him, know that you will deeply please Him. You were created with an incredible attribute of God – use it, and you will bring joy to yourself, and glory to Him!!
