The great and glorious day is beyond the speech of men and angels. Those who are faithful, who abide in My Calling, greater that day than even of new birth. For as an infant enters the light of his new world, it is not until much later does he realize the great blessing of it. So too it is with those of the Kingdom; some remember not their entrance and only vaguely their journey to walking. The experience of My hand hidden as their school, then My whisper in the call to true life. But on the great day, although terrible for those who are not of My fold, hidden vision will be revealed, and My Children will leap for their salvation. No greater rejoicing of the heart will have ever been felt prior, for they shall see the great and mighty power of He who holds all things together, and leads the nations from bondage and loss. To these the dawn shall rise with brilliance, and the darkness shall flee like the morning. The lame will leap in their freedom, and the faithful will have their faith fulfilled. The day approaches like all others, but it shall not be like any other.
Joel 2:11,31-32 (NIV) –
11 The Lord thunders
at the head of his army;
his forces are beyond number,
and mighty is the army that obeys his command.
The day of the Lord is great;
it is dreadful.
Who can endure it?
31 The sun will be turned to darkness
and the moon to blood
before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.
32 And everyone who calls
on the name of the Lord will be saved;
for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem
there will be deliverance,
as the Lord has said,
even among the survivors
whom the Lord calls.
1 Cor 2:9 (ESV) – But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him.”
Bottom Line: As followers of the one true God, we have a day in our future to look forward to like no other. There is a day coming when our great and glorious Lord will bring the fullness of His salvation to His people, take His complete victory over our enemy, and serve His vengeance to the world and its sin. It will be a day of indescribable exhilaration for those who truly serve and long for the Lord, but absolute terror for those who have refused and stand against Him. Rejoice if your life and heart are given to our great King. That day will be beyond all others! If not, now’s the time to make a change. If the Father is calling you to communion with Him through Jesus, answer His call, and you too can look forward to the great and dreadful day of the Lord.
