Listening to the Holy Spirit:
From the atom to the solar system, My principles are the same. The laws for the small, also apply to the grand. In responsibility, in obedience, in faith, it is the same. Strength to resist the small temptation gives great reward, for the same desire for righteousness will govern the large. He that finds strength in his youth, will find also that same strength in his older age against a greater threat. Practice in the day, what you desire for the year. Practice in thought, what you desire in your action. The smallest labor, done consistently, gives way to the largest responsibility. I see in the small, what you are in large. Give to the master of your labor, attention and completion of the smaller, and you will be given trust for the larger. Patient diligence is holy virtue. Do, as if for Me.
Luke 16:10 (ESV) – One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.
Exodus 18:21 (ESV) – Moreover, look for able men from all the people, men who fear God, who are trustworthy and hate a bribe, and place such men over the people as chiefs of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties, and of tens.
Hosea 12:7 (ESV) – A merchant, in whose hands are false balances,
he loves to oppress
Taking It to Work:
Working as a Christian requires that we pay attention even to the smaller responsibilities. Cutting corners, skipping processes, short-cutting what we were asked to do, are not God’s way. We should be faithful in the small things, so good habits follow us into the promotions that bring us the bigger, more important opportunities. Even when no one is around to see you do the right thing, He does, and He will reward.
