The favor of your God is a strong tower, giving elevated sight of your enemies, protection from their weapons, and a place of rest when weary. He who opposes Me has no shelter, only small strength, bare to elements which I control. He will not prevail; though I allow him to live and to attack, he will fade into the dust of time. My children, adopted by the blood of promise, who follow My way and heed My voice, to these is the victory. The small deed will not be forgotten, and the faith that fuels their steps will not lead them lost, although they do not know the way. Their strength is spent, as it too is small, but it is My favor that prevails beyond. Those who oppose will be broken, as My hand times their demise. But the Father’s anointed, by the blood of the Lamb, will find favor in My sight, and although the attack be waged, My strength will stand where they cannot. Am I not Lord? Why do you fear?
1 Sam 2:9-10 (ESV) – βHe will guard the feet of his faithful ones, but the wicked shall be cut off in darkness, for not by might shall a man prevail. The adversaries of the Lord shall be broken to pieces; against them he will thunder in heaven. The Lord will judge the ends of the earth; he will give strength to his king and exalt the horn of his anointed.β
Bottom Line: Job loss, health issues, weather catastrophes – they can make us feel abandoned by the God we know could control them. Our faith in a protecting God can wane quickly when we feel hurt, powerless and alone; the Bible says we are not alone though. Through the worst circumstances of work or home, He never leaves us. And when our strength is spent, His strength in us is promised. If you are walking with the Lord, you have a fortress of strength, even amidst the battle. Remember He is Lord. Don’t fear the outcome. He will see you through.
