Today you hear My voice. I call you to a deeper call that your life might reflect My light. What good is light when cut from its source? It is gone into night, and forgotten. My light is of greater depth, for your light glows with great effort, and you must labor long to see your reward. To he who walks the way of the blessed, before his labor is counted, he is counted as those reverenced by others. The light of My presence brings great favor, not the harsh spirit of the Pharisee, but the draw of the Father, as others perceive the one who draws them. Be careful of the way you walk. Be mindful of your speech and action. Do not live as those who display only enough righteousness for the world. Your call is higher. Your love is to be deeper. Your action is to be the facets of a jewel, shimmering forth My brilliance to a passing world. Be aware of your greater call.

2 Cor 3:18 (TLB) – But we Christians have no veil over our faces; we can be mirrors that brightly reflect the glory of the Lord. And as the Spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like him.

1John 3:3 (ESV) – And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.

Prv 8:35 (ESV) – For whoever finds me finds life
and obtains favor from the LORD.

Taking It to Work:

Ocean blue. To me there is no other color more beautiful. Something magic happens to that water at about 30 miles offshore in the Atlantic. It’s a deep blue like no other. Absolutely my favorite.

Here’s what makes it magic though. What color is water? Easy answer right? Water has no color. Pure water, and even pure salt water are both perfectly clear.

So, what makes that beautiful blue I love?

It’s the pureness of the water. As light from the sun hits the water, pure water will absorb all the different colors that are in the sun’s spectrum, and only reflect back the deep blues and violets, exactly like it was designed to do. It’s what makes our oceans absolutely breathtaking, and makes our blue planet blue. Add the slightest bit of impurity to that water though, and instead of reflecting back only pure deep blue, it will reflect other colors, like greens, reds, browns. Or if sand and silt are suspended, it will reflect back a greyish white.

Now, let’s relate that truth to ourselves. In our purest form, as designed, we reflect the holy God that created us, and like the draw that beautiful blue has on a sailor, that reflection of our Creator in us is a very natural draw to others. I believe it is one of the reasons Jesus had such a tremendous draw to those around Him.

In the workplace, that drawing of people to you, as a result of a pure walk with Him, is very powerful, not only for drawing people to the Kingdom, but frankly it is good for you. With that drawing comes a sort of God-given favor. People like you. They trust you. They tend to want to help you succeed. They place orders. They give promotions. They talk well of you when you’re not around. And what’s more, if your place of work has enough of those types of people; turnover is less, the work environment is more pleasant, and customers, even if they don’t know why, tend to want to do business with you.

It is as designed. We are called to reflect His brilliance in the workplace, and when we do, the favor of God is all around us. But that only happens 30 miles out, well away from the impurities, as His Word works to purify us, today.
