I the Lord gives reign to those of the earth, great and small, in nations and in the workplace. There are many not worthy of their positions, many without qualification for the territories given, but great is the work of My way. Great is the plan that brings man to My Father. In necessity are My placements of men and rulers. Unknown of man are the fullness of My ways. Your leaders are masters by My hand. With human understanding alone it is not understood, but in faith of My providence, peace might be yours. He who rules unjustly does not rule the hearts of those he has been given authority over. You are Mine before and above any authority. You are called to obey those placed, barring only the ways of sin. In joyful submission you will bless upward, and your influence to the ungodly will grow. I have established the lands and the providences, and the rulers of such. Be faithful to Me under them, and your peace will increase in Me as you serve them.
Obadiah 19 (ESV) – Those of the Negeb shall possess Mount Esau, and those of the Shephelah shall possess the land of the Philistines; they shall possess the land of Ephraim and the land of Samaria, and Benjamin shall possess Gilead.
Bottom Line: Sometimes it is hard to understand how our leaders even got there. Ungodly people are hard to follow and respect, but we have to remember our God is in full control. He knows what He is doing, even when we can’t see the logic. We are called to work diligently, and at times, even under unfair authority. Godly obedience and countenance in such circumstances is a shining light of who we are in Jesus. It is when we honor them, the best we can, that we Honor Him, and His Word works in us.
