A ship too heavy, loaded beyond capacity, is unable to respond in storm.  My wind and My waves will sweep over that ship, and instead of gently lifting, the ship will be engulfed. Even with intact hull, all not firmly held is swept away. I call you to balance; you have taken on more. You have been given a sound vessel, but the overage is too much for the seas you must pass through. Many pursue success by taking on too much, carrying much more than what is safe in life. When the storm comes they lose often the more precious cargo. That which I called them to protect (family, personal relationships, etc.). Career can sink such a ship. Career can also make a life so difficult to steer that the ship reaches not its intended port. Instead, it ends up against the rocks because that is where the wind and the waves drove it. I know your design. Seek Me to find the balance you need. My direction, My cargo, in proper measure with cargo of the workplace, will bring true success – one of eternal significance.

Matt. 14:24-25 (ESV) –  . . . but the boat by this time was a long way from the land, beaten by the waves, for the wind was against them.  And in the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea.

Bottom Line:  Your family counts, your ministry counts, your friends count, and your time with God counts. There is more to life than work; there are things of higher worth than success. We must strike that balance. Ask Him where you must start so your ship arrives safely, along with ALL its precious cargo.
