A clean heart brings blessing. You bear the Name above all names; carry that Name as a fine jewel. Protect and do not soil what is beyond value; unclean lips destroy the witness. To claim redemption with the lips, and again to speak as the vulgar with the same, this dishonors, and your power is lost with those who hear, and My face is turned away. The ears of heaven disdain the double-minded, and their prayers are without entry into the gates. Deceitful lips and actions unworthy of My Name are the habit of some bearing the same. Release what is garbage, that its stench would not infect what I have made clean. The love of the true man, given to God, does not wear two garments. A man with two faces cannot be trusted. Walk in righteousness purchased; it is of great price beyond any jewel of the earth. Keep clean My redeemed vessel, that your prayers may be heard, and your path laid straight before you.
1 Peter 3:12 (ESV) – “For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”
Bottom Line: Peer pressure is rough on our kids, but it is rough on us as well. We proclaim the Name of Jesus, sing praises and say our prayers in one crowd, but with the same mouth, in different company, we can curse, complain and wound. On Sunday, with the same hand, we can love and bless, and the next day use it for wrong gain. God can’t bless that kind of life. The bible says that the double-minded man should not expect anything from God, but the prayers of the righteous are heard and answered. Choose which person you want to be, then be consistently steadfast and consistently blessed.
