For this I came, that you would know the Father. In precepts above man, in them – love for man. Look to the light, the great creation that abounds, that you would know the grandeur of God and again His love, for the creation exists for love of man. In man there is placed the capacity to love, to give, and to again receive. Of God, and only of God, is this love given in reflection. All this that He may be known. All that surrounds is of the eternal God. For you He reaches that you may come, and closer still. The blessing seen masks the many more unseen. As the sun gives warmth, but much more within its rays – life itself for earth. In the love of the Father and the Son in whom He sent – life for man. Do not blanket the unseen with the seen. Seek by the Spirit, by My Word that you would know the deeper calling, that you would see more clearly the greater hand that unseen, supports the seen. Blindness is of the seen alone, for what is seen should lead deeper. As the laws of God are just law to the blind, for they cannot see the deeper love in My precepts. Creation [is] just natural order to the unfaithful, but to he who sees, the grandeur of love of his Creator. Open your eyes wider to My love. Through all, the great love of the Father is seen, and in the same, He is known. Love eternal shown through eyes of the faithful, who see beyond the seen.
Psalm 148:7-10 (ESV) – Praise the Lord from the earth, you great sea creatures and all deeps, fire and hail, snow and mist, stormy wind fulfilling his word. Mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars! Beasts and all livestock, creeping things and flying birds!
Job 12:7-10 (ESV) – “But ask the beasts, and they will teach you; the birds of the heavens, and they will tell you; or the bushes of the earth, and they will teach you; and the fish of the sea will declare to you. Who among all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In his hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind.”
Bottom Line: All of creation and God’s precepts for living, given clearly in His Word, were given for the good and love of mankind. In faith, we look deeper to find Him, to know Him, and to love Him. The beauty of nature, the brilliance of His laws for living, all point to Him, His greatness, and His great love for us. When we seek Him by looking deeper, meditating on his creation and Word, we find the great love He has for us. Jesus said that the lost will be “ever seeing, but never perceiving; ever hearing, but never understanding… (Mark 4:12). To the unbeliever, it’s all just mindless evolution – complex and functional by chance, luck and time alone. The transcendent eternal Word of God and the genius of its laws, blessing us continuously as we live within them, to the unbeliever is just a book, an old book. If you see beyond this, praise the God who has called you, opened your eyes, and is showing you His love through all that surrounds you. Let this love fill you as you go to work today, seeing deeper into the infinite depth of a God who cares for, and encompasses you with His love.
