Taking It to Work:

We live in an age where it can be embarrassing to say, “I don’t know.” At work we may feel inadequate if we don’t know the answer. As Christians we may feel that we need to have all the answers about our faith, God and all the mysteries of life. The truth is, we were not given all the answers we seek.

We don’t understand fully why there is suffering, why His plan seems to be taking so long, or the unfolding of His return in last days, but there are things we do understand, and we should not be distracted or distraught by the things that God has not yet revealed.

What He has revealed to the world is enough, or He would have revealed more. And what He has revealed, we should be trying to live out everyday, including in our home and workplace, where we spend most of our time. How to do that well in our personal situations, these are the things we should be seeking Him in prayer to know, as we seek to know Him as well.

The truth is, theologians for centuries have debated and theorized much, on way too little information from God; we don’t want to get caught in that trap. Our job primarily is to study His Word best we can, live and pray to know and please Him, share His message of salvation when we can, and to help other believers live out their faith. We don’t have to have all the answers, just a desire, and to follow-through to do the things we already know, as His Word works in us, today.

1 Cor 13:12 (ESV) –  For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.

Col 1:26 (ESV) – the mystery hidden for ages and generations but now revealed to his saints.

Eph 1:9 (ESV) – making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ

Listening to the Holy Spirit (Rhema):

Know the way. Much is unknown to man. Mysteries of old continue without answer, for they are not for those of this time, but a time to come. To dig an endless hunt is not wise, for time is lost in the opinion of many. Know what I have made known. The Father has revealed the Son and the Spirit within those who abide for the journey. All truth is known by the Spirit and Word, but not all truth is given. The arrogance of man is to possess more than his neighbor, and the fool creates false knowledge to fill his lack. I have given much, but not all. You see now only partially, and it will remain so until the end of the age. It is for now to know the Way, that you may shine brightly for others to follow. Receiving the Light, they again lead the next. Know what I have given to know, and show he who has nothing, where to unearth what is already his. My Word is, that you might know Me and the ways of the Father, not that you would understand all things, for even the angels of heaven are without this. Know well My Word and My salvation, that many would know and believe.
