Taking It to Work:
The TRUTH of God’s Word is mighty. For centuries, actually for millennia, the ungodly have feared the truth in the pages of our Bible, and that same truth when it’s on our lips.
History shows, it is the truth of God that changes lives, displaces error, disarms enemies, and releases God’s power into the world.
If you are a Christ-follower, you know, in some part, this power. Your life is different, and your life now can make a difference. He is now your Light, and you are His light and power to your family, your friends, and your workplace.
The enemy of our souls hates that.
I am sure you feel his resistance, especially when you step out to shine that Light; and you are not alone. On multiple levels, we are seeing the enemy’s outright opposition; now on almost every social platform and governmental body across the world. There is no other target to silence more pursued than the message of Jesus Christ, the Word of God that backs it up, and the people that call Him Lord.
Many younger folks that I talk with believe this is just a political thing; power hungry people that don’t want any ethics or some transcendent authority over them. While that may be true, it is clear from the beginnings of recorded human history, transcending tongue, country, and continent, this resistance is far above any current partisan or political lines. It is nothing short of the ongoing evidence of greatest spiritual battle known to creation. A battle that has spawned ten million other battles both on the earth and in the heavenly places. It is the age-old war of evil against good, of Satan and his minions, against the people and Kingdom of God.
Facebook and others have blocked the sharing of this devotional, and I’m sure many other workplace devotionals for years, likely because of the realization of the power individual Christians can still have in the workplace. It’s where we spend most of our time, and where most of our relationships develop; and with the truth already all but expelled from schools, governments, and now many of the churches, the arena of the workplace, and our ability to shine the light of Christ in that workplace, for the most part, at least here in the United States, is still unhindered. It is a place where faith and truth can still be shared and talked about with little resistance.
Pray that God would help you know how to do that well; tactfully and effectively. In fact, I would encourage you to visit FCCI.org for some great inspiration and free resources placed there by those that have been doing it well in the workplace for close to fifty years.
You have His Truth, may it shine forth through you, as His Word works through you, today.
Amos 5:10 (ESV) – They hate him who reproves in the gate, and they abhor him who speaks the truth.
2Cor 6:7 (ESV) – by truthful speech, and the power of God; with the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and for the left
Hebrews 4:12 (ESV) – For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
John 15:26-27 (ESV) – “But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me. And you also will bear witness, because you have been with me from the beginning.”
Eph 6:12 (ESV) – For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
Listening to the Holy Spirit (Rhema):
My Spirit speaks. To all My own My Word shall penetrate their hearts. As truth finds its home, deception is displaced. The world fears My truth, for it bears out the concealed heart and the schemes of the enemy unseen. All who hear My voice seek truth, but those who seek not, do not know the Father’s calling and are not My own. You although, are Mine. From the beginning you have been, and are bearer of the light of My truth. Do not be deceived; you too are sent as sheep among wolves. The pack will stalk its prey, but they shall not prevail, for the sword of the Spirit lays bare the strong, and their great numbers will be but loss. Be strengthened by My Word. I have given it that you would know Truth, and stand amidst the enemy that it might be proclaimed to the nations. Deception’s day draws near – its teeth already bare, but it is the Truth of the Lamb that shall devour.
